Sigbjørn Gjelsvik
Sigbjørn Gjelsvik is Norwegian Member of Parliament (Storting) representing the Centre Party. Born on March 30, 1974, in Naustdal, Sogn og Fjordane, he has been an active member of the Storting since 2017, representing the constituency of Akershus.
Gjelsvik currently serves as the Chair of the Standing Committee on Transport and Communications, a position he has held since October 2023. His role involves overseeing matters related to transportation infrastructure, communication systems, and digital governance.
Before his current role, Gjelsvik was the Minister of Local Government and Regional Development from April 2022 to October 2023. During his tenure, he was responsible for telecommunications and digital communication policies.
Gjelsvik’s academic background is in economics and resource management from the Norwegian University of Agricultural Sciences.
